U.S Taekwondo Committee Joins Forces with 2020 Armor

U.S. Taekwondo Committee, the leading organization for maintaining and growing traditional martial arts values and education in the United States, is proud to announce a new partnership with 2020 Armor, a revolutionary sports technology company founded in 2016.


2020 Armor has developed innovative training tools and technology that enable martial artists to develop their skills in more efficient and effective ways. This partnership will combine U.S. Taekwondo Committee’s expertise in martial arts training and values with 2020 Armor’s cutting-edge technology. The partnership between U.S. Taekwondo Committee and 2020 Armor will also bring a new dimension to competition at the 12 th annual U.S. Open Taekwondo Hanmadang July 28th and 29th, 2023 at Ed Robson Arena in Colorado Springs, CO, Olympic City USA.


Thanks to 2020 Armor’s advanced technology, U.S. Taekwondo Committee is proud to introduce sparring for the 1 st time at the U.S. Open Taekwondo Hanmadang. By incorporating the latest technology, athletes can now determine their accuracy, speed and power when it comes to sparring opponents. This allows for a more objective evaluation of competitors, as well as a higher degree of competition.


With this cutting-edge technology, U.S. Taekwondo Committee and 2020 Armor are teaming up to revolutionize the martial arts competitive landscape.

About the U.S. Open Taekwondo Hanmadang


In 1992 Grandmaster Sang Lee created the U.S. Open Taekwondo Championships held at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO. At the time, it was the 1st Open Taekwondo Championships in the world. Currently, many countries around the world hold an “Open” Championships. The U.S. Open Taekwondo Championships continues to be the largest and most prestigious “Open” Taekwondo Championships in the world

In 2009 Grandmaster Sang Lee created the U.S. Open Taekwondo Hanmadang to provide students of all ages and athletic abilities to compete on an international level. The Korean word “Hanmadang” is translated to “Festival”. Athletes range in age 3-90.
